Corporation du Développement Économique et Communautaire de Dubreuilville (CDEC)

The Corporation du Développement Économique et Communautaire de Dubreuilville (CDEC) is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors made up of community leaders, business owners and ex-officio members from the Corporation of the Township of Dubreuilville. The CDEC aims to work closely with local businesses, all levels of government, and community stakeholders to facilitate economic growth within the community. The ultimate objective of the CDEC is to develop existing businesses and attract outside investment. The CDEC office can provide detailed and up-to-date information to corporations considering making Dubreuilville their new home.

Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation

The Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation is a non-profit organization governed by a local Board of Directors. The CFDC is funded by FedNor/Industry Canada and was established in September of 1989. Superior East CFDC serves the communities of Dubreuilville, Chapleau, Wawa, White River, and First Nations located in the Superior East Region. The region is located along the North shore of Lake Superior and extends as far as Chapleau to the North and Pic Mobert to the West.

The Superior East CFDC offers small business loans and counselling to the residents of the region. The organization is also involved in regional economic development. Working with representatives of the four communities, the organization strives to improve the social and economic environment of the region.

Our Mission
The mission of the Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation is to assist the communities of Wawa, Chapleau, White River and Dubreuilville and surrounding First Nations in the pursuit of their socio-economic development goals. We will participate by acting as a partner, leader, or catalyst, providing expertise and resources in the area of small business lending and counseling, as information providers, and as community development practitioners.

Our Mandate
The Community Futures Program, delivered through FedNor supports 61 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Ontario. There are 24 located in the North and 37 located in the South. The Superior East Community Futures Corporation is available to assist in the following areas:

  • Strategic community planning and socio-economic development
  • Support for community-based projects
  • Business information and planning services
  • Access to capital for small and medium-sized businesses and social enterprises

The Superior East CFDC is governed by a local Board consisting of local volunteers from the region. These volunteers are familiar with their communities’ needs and development priorities and provide direction for the organization.
