BR&E Program

Retaining and expanding existing businesses is an economic development approach that is more successful than recruiting new branch companies from other regions. Expansion helps communities understand local business needs and respond accordingly so that businesses stay, grow, and become more entrenched in the community. The Corporation of the Township of Dubreuilville BR&E program gets the broader community involved in comprehensive planning.

The BR&E Program helps make local businesses be more competitive by evaluating and addressing some of their key needs and concerns. By addressing common business concerns, the community ensures a healthier future for itself. Businesses that stay competitive are more likely to remain in the community and possibly expand.

The BR&E program often assists companies in accessing program support through organizations such as:

  • Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation;
  • Northern Economic Development and Growth;
  • FedNor;
  • Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC);
  • Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation.
